Stevie Baxter

“I grew up playing volleyball and have competed in tournaments across many different locations, which helped shape my love for the game and teamwork. Volleyball has always been a big part of my life, and I’m excited to continue sharing that passion through coaching. Outside of volleyball, I’m a hairstylist based in Sheridan, where I enjoy working creatively and connecting with people. I also love staying active through Pilates and, of course, playing volleyball whenever I can.”

Volleyball Experience

• Coach Stevie grew up playing soccer, which she tells us gave her a strong athletic foundation, but she quickly found her true passion in volleyball.

• She played varsity volleyball for three years at Sheridan High School and competed on a club team that traveled to tournaments across Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, and beyond.

“My club team won the Rocky Mountain Regionals twice, and those experiences fueled my competitive drive, teamwork skills, and love for the game.”

• Coach Stevie is excited to bring her energy, experience, and passion for volleyball into a coaching role and help athletes grow on and off the court.

Why do I coach?

“While this will be my first official coaching role, I am incredibly excited to get started. I’m eager to learn, grow as a coach, and create a fun, encouraging environment where players feel supported and excited to develop their skills and love for volleyball.”

What do I look forward to teaching my team?

“I look forward to teaching my team strong volleyball fundamentals while helping them build confidence and a love for the game. I’m excited to focus on teamwork, communication, and having a positive mindset on the court. Most of all I want my players to feel supported, have fun, and be proud of their growth throughout the season.”

Why the philosophy of coaching "person first, athlete second" is important to me:

“It is important to me because when players feel valued and supported as individuals, they gain confidence, work harder, and enjoy the game more. Focusing on character and growth creates better athletes and better people.”

Other Tidbits

“I just graduated form cosmetology school in Montana. I love going to the gym, reading, playing the piano, and hanging out with my friends and family. I also love going on long walks outside.”
