Michelle Reeves

“I grew up on small island in Alaska and have lived in Sheridan for 22 years. I have been married for 11 years and have 2 kids.”

Volleyball Experience

• Coach Michelle started swimming on a swim team when she was 8 years old and swam throughout High School. She loves the friendships and memories made and the experience of traveling and competing against yourself to get your best time or working together to get your best time on a relay team.

• “Although I don’t have much volleyball experience, I found joy in volleyball when my daughter started Blacktooth last year. I now play on a league with the Sheridan Rec District and look forward to it every week.”

Why do I coach?

“I haven’t coached before but what interests me in coaching is fulfillment and reward of seeing kids accomplish things they may not be sure of and building confidence in them that will carry them far beyond any sport.”

What do I look forward to teaching my team?

“I look forward to teaching my team confidence, teamwork, resilience and to have fun.”

Why the philosophy of coaching "person first, athlete second" is important to me:

“It’s important to have and recognize your character and traits and have a good foundation and then the sport can be taught. Certain traits and characteristics can’t be taught. And these are important to build as the person will carry that on throughout life.”

Other Tidbits

“During the summer my family and I like to go camping in the Big Horns.”
