Kim George

“I grew up in Idaho and earned my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, which sparked a lifelong passion for health and movement. I began my career as a personal trainer and health educator and later continued my education to become a Registered Nurse. For the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of working as a labor and delivery nurse and I currently manage the Labor and Delivery and Pediatric units at our local hospital. I am grateful for a wonderful husband and two amazing daughters who keep our family busy with all of their extracurricular activities.”

Volleyball Experience

• Growing up, Coach Kim was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, soccer, basketball, and tennis.

• In volleyball, she was a 2-year varsity starter as an outside hitter, served as the team captain, and earned All-State outside hitter title.

• Her team placed second at the State Tournament her senior year and won District Championships her junior and senior years.

• In addition to high school volleyball, she played club volleyball for 6 years and remained competitive in tennis, earning first place in doubles and second place at the state level.

• Her coaching experience includes two years as a head coach for junior high volleyball, three years assisting with club volleyball, and assisting coaching with club soccer.

Why do I coach?

“I coach because I truly love the game and want to give back to the sport that has given so much to me. I find great joy in helping athletes discover what they are capable of and supporting them as they work to reach their goals. Watching athletes grow in confidence, skill and success is what motivates me as a coach.”

What do I look forward to teaching my team?

“I look forward to teaching my team strong, correct fundamentals of volleyball and then building upon those skills as these athletes grow. I love every aspect of the game and am excited to dive deeper into the more technical elements at this age. Equally as important, I look forward to helping athletes learn how to work together as a team, build confidence and overcome mental hurdles.”

Why the philosophy of coaching "person first, athlete second" is important to me:

“This is important to me because when we focus on building good humans, it naturally translates into developing strong, confident athletes. The skills learned through volleyball: teamwork, resilience, accountability, and confidence will extend far beyond the court and stay with athletes throughout their lives.”

Other Tidbits

“Outside of chasing around my kids, I love snow skiing, water skiing and spending time outdoors.”
