“I’m Addisyn, I am currently a senior at Sheridan High school and this is my first year involved in coaching. I work as a CNA at Sheridan Hospital and plan to attend the University of Wyoming come fall of 2026.”
Volleyball Experience
• Coach Addie played volleyball from 6th grade up until her junior year when she decided she would pursue coaching her senior year.
• She is a member of the first-ever team here at Blacktooth!
• During the 2025 Season, Coach Addie led her team statistically in both passing and serving. On more than one occasion, she helped her team to 3rd set victories and championship wins from the service line, serving aces in big moments and staying calm in pressure situations.
• She tells us “Last summer my team and I had a really good season and had the opportunity to compete at AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fl where we placed top 20!”
Why do I coach?
“I’ve never had experience as a coach but I love playing volleyball and after deciding to not play anymore I still wanted to be involved. I think coaching is a good way to share your passion and help others find their passion. From personal experience, coaches can make or break an athletes love for a sport so if I can help others find their confidence, passion and use my experiences to teach and guide other athletes, I would love to!”
What do I look forward to teaching my team?
“As much as I can about really anything I can. Especially teaching and helping my athletes with their condfidence in themselves and their teammates. The biggest thing an athlete can do for themselves and for their skills is to believe in themselves. Having confidence and trusting not only yourself but also your teammates and coaches helps an athlete to accel not only as athletes but also as humans.”
Why the philosophy of coaching "person first, athlete second" is important to me:
“Above all else athletes are human beings. By prioritizing the type of person an athlete is outside of the court is what helps to build the athlete that the become and overall a decent, well rounded individual. It foster confidence, trust, and communication among many other life skills.”
Other Tidbits
“Fun fact: I’m hoping to take a gap year after graduation and spend the year studying abroad in Germany.”
